North American Occupational Safety and Health Week

Beginning April 30, 2006, and running through May 6,1, along with PMA, encourage eyeryone that receives this magazine to celebrate safety in manufacturing, recognize excellence in safety within your own facilities, and continue to identify ways to improve. Why now? Because the first week in May has been selected as 2006 North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week by the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE). PMA joins those sponsors to help focus the attention of employers, employees, the general public and all partners in occupational safety and health to the importance of preventing injuries and illnesses in the workplace. With the theme, "Prevention is the Cure," NAOSH Week supporters strive to increase understanding of the benefits of investing in safety and health and, ultimately, to reduce the number of workplace injuries and illnesses by encouraging new safety initiatives.
