Gazprom Hikes 2014 Spending by 27%

Gazprom has increased its 2014 investment program by 27% partly due to the construction of the Power of Siberia pipeline for gas supplies to China. The board of directors of the state-controlled company has approved a revised 2014 investment program amounting to 1.03 trillion rubles ($25 billion), up from 806 billion rubles approved last December. Capital expenditure and long-term investments are now set at 816.6 billion rubles and 209.6 billion rubles, up from the previously planned 701.1 billion rubles and 104.9 billion rubles, respectively. The 2013 investment program also amounted to 1.03 trillion rubles, including 782.1 billion rubles for capex and 244 billion rubles for long-term investments.
