Gazprom-Wintershall Asset Swap Delayed

Russia’s Gazprom will close an asset swap deal with Germany’s Wintershall in the autumn, rather than in the summer as was planned when the deal was signed in late 2013, Wintershall’s parent company BASF said last week, attributing the delay to administrative difficulties in establishing new companies. The deal, approved by the European Commission, will still be economically effective retroactively to Apr. 1, 2013, despite the delayed finalization, BASF said.
