Rosneft to Present Sell-off Plan as Deadline Nears

Russia's Rosneft should by Dec. 1 submit proposals to the government on how it believes its privatization should be carried out as the state looks to close the sale of a 19.5% stake in the world's largest publicly traded oil producer by year-end. Andrei Belousov, an aide to President Vladimir Putin and chairman of the Rosneft board of directors, said on Nov. 29 that he wrote to Rosneft boss Igor Sechin and company management asking them to decide on the form of privatization. The state currently holds 69.5% of Rosneft through the Rosneftegas holding company.
