Financially sanctioned Rosneft is selling a 23.9% stake in the giant Vankor oil field in East Siberia to a consortium of three Indian companies - Oil India, Indian Oil Corp. and Bharat Petroleum - in line with its strategy of attracting foreign investors to domestic projects. The sides have refused to reveal the cost of the deal, but according to sources the Indians are to pay close to $2.1 billion once the transaction is approved by regulators, which is expected to take place in September.
