Warm compacted con rod secures top EPMA award

The European Powder Metallurgy Association's 2000 awards, presented at the EURO PM 2000 conference in Munich, Germany in October, rewarded innovations in part design, including the first sintered con rod developed for commercial production and Europe's first all-PM planetary carrier, together with advances in hard materials and in compaction technology. The awards considered cost savings and quality improvements, novelty, promotion of PM technology and stimulation of further PM usage.
