Rosneft Explores Russia’s Southern Seas

Advancing its offshore ambitions in southern Russia, Rosneft has started exploring the Yuzhno-Chernomorskiy license area in the Russian sector of the Black Sea. The work program includes a 2,000 sq km 3-D seismic survey that will continue until autumn to help identify oil and gas prospects for drilling at a later stage, Rosneft said. Rosneft was awarded the 7,000 sq km Yuzhno-Chernomorskiy license in 2010 and conducted a 2-D seismic survey across the acreage in 2012, which it finished interpreting last year.
