Time-charter rates for sea-going and sea-river vessels

Business activity has decreased somewhat in the Azov-Black Sea basin andthe Mediterranean Sea in the middle of the month as major buyers from theMiddle East and North Africa avoid large contracts and make only small deals inthe spot market. Time-charter quotations for small-tonnage vessels have notchanged much; shipowners are trying to keep quotations at the current level,waiting for an increase in grain shipments from Ukrainian ports after thecancellation of export duty on wheat and maize.
