In the Black Sea basin, iron ore is has been shipped in large quantities in June. ?hinese market slowed down for just a short while,and this month shipments from Ukraine and Russia have recovered. It is planned to deliver some 2.77 mt of iron ore to the Black Seaports in June, up from 2.7 mt in May. Odessa, Reni, Izmail ports and TIS terminals had nearly 870,000 t of the cargo left at stocks by earlyJune. Iron ore concentrate is most often carried by Panamax and Capesize ships from Yuzhny, Odessa and Novorossiysk to China,small batches being shipped to Turkey. Freight rates for 70,000 tof iron ore concentrate shipped from Yuzhny to the northern portsof China have stayed at $36-37/t in the first half of June. Shipping120,000 t on the same route has been steadily charged $28-29/t.
