Gindalbie Metals (Australia) plans to launch iron ore mine at Karara (Western Australia)

Gindalbie Metals (Australia) has announced launch of Karara iron ore mine, located 200 km from Geraldton (WesternAustralia), in Q2 2011. Initially, the asset will be capable of producing 3 mtpy of hematite iron ore; shipments are tostart from mid-2011. Production of magnetite concentrate (8 mtpy) will commence in Q4 2011, shipments – at thebeginning of 2012. In the long term, the company plans to increase the total capacity to 41 mtpy (+30 mtpy). Thelifetime of the mine is estimated at about 30-35 years.
