In November, cargo transshipment increases by 2% at Baltic States ports; handling of bulk oil and chemicals - up, other cargoes - down

In November, ports of the Baltic States transshipped a total of 11.15 mt of cargoes (up 2% or 216,000 t from October). As a month before,transshipment grew in Klaipeda (up 218,000 t) and Riga (up 67,000 t). At other ports of the region, cargo handling reduced by some 22,000 t. Among cargoes handled, only bulk oil and fertilizer transshipment increased.Except for Ventspils (down 82,000 t), almost all ports of the region enhanced handling of bulk oil (up 454,000 t to 4.97 mt). Shipmentsfrom Klaipeda and Riga surged by 187,000 t to 918,000 t and by 238,000 t to 756,000 t, which are the peak figures of this year. In Tallinn,handling of oil and oil products also rose to 2.16 mt (116,000 t more). In Liepaja, bulk oil transshipment stayed unchanged at 33,000 t.
