Europe: pig iron suppliers drive prices up despite weak buying interest

The EU pig iron market is seeing no buying activity in late July. Amongthe main reasons for that are low demand for finished steel and holidayseason. Most steelmakers are cutting back production and are orderingno pig iron because their stocks are sufficient till mid-September.
