Long product prices continue to grow in Singapore due to decreased stocksand steady demand from local customers. Prices for domestic rebar haverisen to local buyers by $43-47/t at the current rate (SGD 60-65/t), those forwire rod – by $54-57/t (SGD 75-80/t) compared to the first days of the month.Yet, due to currency fluctuations, the actual increase in the US dollar termshas been $60-65/t and $75-80/t, respectively. Moreover, market participantsexpect domestic prices to move up further this month in view of soaringprices for raw materials.
