Structure Formation in Eutectic Alloys of Chromium with Carbide Cr_(23)C_6 and with Carbides of the IVa-Group Metals

The formation of eutectics in alloys of the quasi-binary sections of the phase diagram between Cr and TiC, ZrC, HfC, and also in the Cr-C binary system is studied by the method of scanning electron microscopy. It has been established that the eutectics are of the faceted-nonfaceted type. The morphological peculiarities of the eutectics are discussed.
