MCA Addresses Several Important Issues At Annual Meeting In Baltimore

The Metal Construction Association held its annual meeting in early August in Baltimore, MD. Following is a brief summary of the business discussed by some of the councils.One major topic of discussion was the nearly-completed MCA diaphragm design manual. The 160-page manual is the product of MCA-sponsored research at the University of West Virginia. (Extending the research to include testing of up to three more aluminum panels is being considered.) The Marketing & Communications Committee will handle the production and marketing of the manual. A seminar to discuss the book and application of the research results will be held at METALCON 2001.
