2007 Expected to be another strong year for metal construction

As expected, respondents to the 2007 Metal Construction News Contractor Survey noted that this past year was a good one for metal construction products. Most indicated that they were able to maintain the increased volume that had been experienced during the previous two or three years, while many indicated that their sales volumes rose significantly during 2006. Based on the results, 2007 should shape up to be an even better year than 2006. Our survey respondents, who are generally very optimistic as a rule, have projected some healthy increases for the upcoming year. They're looking for a 10.5 percent increase in metal building activity, a 12 percent jump in metal reroofing, a 12.1 percent boost in new metal rool projects on non-metal buildings and a 5.9 percentirise in post-frame building activity.
