摘要

A field experiment conducted during summer 1999 at Agricultural Research Station, Kathalagere to compare different crop establishment methods, weed control methods and systems of cultivation in paddy Cv. IR-64 revealed that transplanted crop under puddled and ponded condition gave significantly higher grain yield (6.3 t/ha) over the rest of the treatments. On par straw yield was obtained among the treatments. No significant differences in yield was noticed due to weedicide application and hand weeding alone. Water consumption was highest in direct sown crop in both irrigated dry condition and puddled and ponded condition (96.0 and 152 cm, respectively) compared to transplanted crop under similar conditions (70.0 and 137.5 cm, respectively).
