Tonnage Record Established By 1999 Top Metal Builders

Metal Construction News' Top Metal Builder award for 1999 has been awarded to Madera, CA-based Span Construction & Engineering. This marks the 10th straight year that the company has earned this honor, based on tonnage of steel purchased for pre-engineered metal buildings.Last year, Span posted a record 36,504 tons of steel purchases-a stunning 67.6 percent increase over its 1998 total of 21,780 tons. The previous tonnage record was also recorded by Span, at 23,270 tons in 1997.
