In June f was part of a group of trade journalists that Towson, Md.-based DeWALT Tools brought out to the Black and Decker University to try out the new line of abrasives and hammers that was being launched. The event coincided with DeWALT's launch of a new line of abrasives that added more than 900 new products to its existing platform. Designed for professional contractors, including mechanical contractors, welders and fabricators, the abrasives are built to withstand the rigors of an industrial job site. The new line includes products in six categories--Metal-working Coated Abrasives, Wearable Backing Flap Discs, Wire Wheels, Hubbed Thin Wheels, Contaminant-Free Thin Wheels and Next Generation XP Grinding Wheels. "DeWALT strives to provide abrasives users with products they can rely on," said Product Manager Brad Nohr. "These new products meet the daily challenges professionals face on the job site and help increase productivity. Our innovations provide time and cost savings with products like flap wheels for angle grinders, and the QDC mounting system for quick change discs that integrates the discs and backing pad into one piece."
