Comparative Study on Growth and Yield Performance of Milky Mushroom (Calocybe indica) on Different Substrates

Different substrates viz., paddy straw, sunflower head, sunflower stalk and jackfruit rind were used for cultivation of milky mushroom. Maximum weight loss in sunflower stalk and least was in jackfruit rind due to growth of milky mushroom fungus was observed. Better yield of mushroom obtained in sunflower stalk (369 g / bag) compared to in sunflower head (334 g / bag) and jackfruit rind (94.20 g / bag). Yield in sunflower stalk is comparable to yield in paddy straw. Jackfruit rind found to be not good substrate for growing milky mushroom.
