Development of Organic Packages for Scented Variety of Rice Pusa basmati

The experiment entitled "Development of organic packages for scented variety of rice Pusa basmati was taken under All India Coordinated Research Project on Cropping System, Kuthulia Farm, JNKVV, College of Agriculture, Rewa during kharif season of 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. The results indicated that the application of 100 per cent NPK through fertilizer, based on soil test value + 25 kg zinc sulphate (T_ 7) gave maximum grain yield of rice ( 28.92 q/ha). Integrated nutrient management system in which 50 per cent NPK given through fertilizer and 50 per cent N given through FYM (T_t) was equally effective and at par to 100 per cent NPK given through fertilizer. Adoption of different organic packages with and without biofertilizer were not found as much effective as fertilizer and INM system. The yield reduction varied from 13.34 to 27.73 per cent under different organic packages as compared to 100 per cent NPK given through fertilizer. Although, soil fertility status was enhanced as availability ofnitrogen was increased by 2.67 to 7.14 per cent and available potash status was increased by 1.58 to 5.7 per cent over initial fertility status due to adoption of different organic packages with and without biofertilizer.
