摘要

The effect of wax coating (1:1,1.2 and 1.3 dilutions), combined with packing in polyethylene bags (with - 2 per cent and no ventilation), on the post harvest behaviour of solo papaya was studied at ambinet storage conditions. The fruits waxed with 1 :1 dilution increased the shelf life, both in polyethylene bags packing (2 days) and without packing (1.5 days). The duration of ripening was also extended up to a mean of 1.5 days as compared with other dilutions. The physico-chemical attributes were better retained in 1: 1 dilution waxed fruits with or without packaging as compared to other dilutions. The organoleptic scores were higher in fruits waxed with 1:1 dilutions and stored in polythene bags.
