Effect of Press Mud on Soil Fertility and Yield of Rainfed Dry Chilli in Southern Transitional Zone of Karnataka

PRESSMUD, the sugar factory waste is more fertile compared to farmyard manure (Table I) and its availability in southern transitional zone (STZ) of Karnataka is plenty. Thus the present investigation was taken up to know the effect of pressmud in comparison with recommended farmyard manure on soil fertility and on yield of chilli grown on light textured, low base saturated acidic soil, which is low in organic matter content.
