Metal Casting and the Environment

Metalcasters have been recycling for centuries, using old or discarded products to produce new and useful cast components, from faucets to engine blocks. As a result of years of experience, the industry has learned to recycle materials throughout every stage of the metal casting process and beyond. Some examples include the use of recycled content scrap metal in feedstock; the reuse of foundry sand within moulding operations; and beneficial reuse of foundry by-products as Flowable fill and construction aggregate.
