Development of Scale to Measure Socio Economic Status of Farmers under HemavathiIrrigation Project

A scale to measure socio-economic status of farmers under Hemavathi irrigation project in Mandya and Hassan Districts was developed in this research study. Based on the review of literature and discussion with the experts, 36 items were enlisted. Therelevancy rating was obtained from 50 judges in the concerned area. All those items with the relevancy percentage of 80 and above were selected for the inclusion in the socio-economic status scale. Twenty three items passed the above criteria. The scaledeveloped was found reliable (0.9902) and valid (0.8151).
