Forty sorghum genotypes were grouped into twelve clusters. Among the clusters, cluster I was the largest with twelve genotypes followed by cluster VI with ten genotypes. Grain yield per plant had strong and positive association with flag leaf area at50 per cent flowering, panicle weight and number of intemodes per plant, both at phenotypic and genotypic level. The genotypes exhibited significant variability for all nine traits under the study. The phenotypic coefficient of variations (PCV) was higher than genotypic coefficient of variations (GCV) for all characters. Higher GCV and PCV values were obtained for flag leaf area at 50 per cent flowering, panicle weight without seeds and grain yield per plant indicating that variation of these characters contributed markedly to the total variability. The study indicated the presence of sufficient variability among the sorghum genotypes to be exploited in breeding programmes.
