Effect of Organic Manures and Fertilizer Levels on Yield, Yield Components and Nutreint Uptake of Sesamum under Rainfed Conditions

A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 1998 and 1999 to study the response of sesamum to organic manures and fertilizer levels under rainfed condition of Central Dry Zone (Zone 4), The pooled data indicated that the application on neem cake at 750 kg per hectare recorded the highest seed (558 kg /ha) and stalk (21 q/ha.) yeild, which was on par with farm yard manure (FYM) and composted coir pith (CCP) applied plot and significantly superior to plots not received organic manures. Among the different fertilizer levels application of 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizer recorded the highest seed yeild (514 kg/ha) compared to control plot (401 kg/ha). Similar trend was also observed with respect of stalk yield of sesamum. The interaction effect of organic manures and fertilizer levels were no! found significant.
