Youth reflect the national potential and represent the life blood of a nation. Development of youth determines the development of community and country as a whole. The socio-economic development and prosperity of the rural areas depend upon the type of youth the country own. They are the precious human assets who can play an important role in nation building activities. Rural youth are the very important section of the rural society and play a vital and significant role in the development of rural areas especially in agriculture and its allied fields. They play a significant role in major activities of agriculture by participating in ploughing, sowing, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, post harvesting activities, marketing of produce and so on. In this context, it is worthwhile to study the participation of rural youth in agriculture and horticulture.
