A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of integrated nutrient management on physico-chemical properties and nutrient availability in Southern Dry Zone of Karnataka under cowpea (Vigna unguiculata L) cover crop. A Randomised Complete Block Design was used with eleven treatments and three replications. Soil samples were collected and analysed for physico-chemical properties before and after the crop harvest. The treatments includes control, 50 per cent, 75 per cent, 100 per cent Recommended Dose of Fertilisers (RDF) alone and in combination with FYM, 75 per cent RDF with press mud and poultry manure 25 per cent N basis and 50 per cent RDF with press mud and poultry manure 50 per cent N basis. The results indicated that bulk density of soil decreased (1.5 Mg~(-3)) significantly in the treatment combination of 50 per cent RDF + FYM and improvement of water holding capacity (29.18%) and porosity (39.45%) was observed in 100 per cent RDF + FYM combination. Significant increase in organic carbon (0.69%), available nitrogen (212.63 kg ha~(-1)), phosphorus (39.84 kg ha~(-1)), potassium ( 169.80 kg ha~(-1)), exchangeable calcium (1.82 cmol (P~+) kg~(-1)), magnesium (0.59 cmol (P~+) kg~(-1)), available sulphur (14.62 ppm), zinc (0.93 ppm), copper (0.37 ppm), iron (3.61 ppm) and manganese (3.42 ppm) contents were observed in 100 per cent RDF + FYM treatment.
