Seed samples of 23 maize genotypes were collected from 11 districts of Karnataka and standard blotter method (ISTA) was employed to identify the incidence of seed mycoflora of maize prevailing in different locations of Karnataka. Association of Aspergillus flavus, A.niger, Penicillium sp., Fusarium sp., Nigrospora oryzae, Acremonium strictum, Alternaria sp., Bipoloris sp., and curvularia sp., were observed from seed samples often funzi viz., A. niger, A. flavus, Penicillium sp., Rhizobium sp., Cladosporium sp., Fusarium sp., B. Theobromae, Alternaria sp., stemphylum sp., and curvularia sp. Among these tested seed samples observed were found to be Penicillium sp., Fusarium sp and Aspergillus flavus.
