A Study of Profile of the Tribal Coffee Growers and Relationship with their Attitude and Modernalization Level

The study was conducted to know the characteristics of the tribal coffee growers and to analyse the relationship of attitude and modernization levels with their characteristics. The study was conducted in paderu division of Vishakapatnum district of Andhrapradesh with a sample size of 200. The results revealed that majority of tribal coffee growers were middle to young aged (below 45 years), 35 per cent functionally literates and belong to nuclear family. Nearly half of them belong to medium social participation category and had landholding size ranges from 2.43ha to 4.01 ha. Characteristics like education, family type, landholding annual income, economic motivation, achievement motivation, risk orientation, innovativeness, level of living and scientific orientation exhibited positive and significant relationship with attitude and modernization level of tribals.
