A nearly 50 percent decline in sales led to a quarterly loss for Cleveland's Olympic Steel Inc. The service center company reported net sales of 140.9 million dollars for the first quarter, a 48.8 percent decline from the same period in 2008. Olympic posted a 25.5 million dollars net loss during the first three months of 2009, compared to net income of 13.2 million dollars during the corresponding period of 2008.
