Influence of Media on Yield and Quality of Chrysanthemum (Cv Sunny Reagan) Cuttings

The effect of different substrates (cocopeat, gravel and soil) on yield and quality of cuttings of chrysanthemum cv Sunny Reagan was investigated About 91.2 per cent yield of uniform good quality cuttings having high fresh weight (1.29 g), number of leaves (2 95), internodal length (2 20 cm), stem diameter (0 366 cm) and leaf area (26 25 cm~2) were produced when cocopeat was used as a growing substrate. Cocopeat's high air watet ratio, less deviation in pH, EC and physical properties were attributedfbi higher yield of better quality cuttings in chrysanthemum.
