摘要

Greengram is a major source of dietary protein of the large section of vegetarian population of the world. Genetic diversity is important to evaluate their utility in germplasm conservation and plant breeding. Using D~2 analysis of Mahalanobis (1936),one hundred and twenty nine genotypes were grouped into eight clusters. Among the clusters, Cluster I was largest with seventy five genotypes followed by Cluster VII with thirty genotypes. Seed yield per pod had strong and positive association with plant height followed by cluster per plant, pods per plant and pod yield per plant both at phenotypic and genotypic level. The genotypes exhibited significant variability for all nine traits under the study. The PCV was higher than GCV for all characters. Higher GCV and PCV values were obtained for seed yield per plant, pod yield per plant, pods per plant, clusters per plant and number of branches per plant and plant height indicating that variation of these characters contributed markedly to the total variability.
