Chemical Management of Septoria Leaf Spot Disease in Tomato

摘要

Septoria leaf spot (Septoria lycopersici Speg.) in tomato recently it became an important disease in many of the high yielding hybrids in Karnataka. Fungicides were tested to know their efficacy in controlling the disease in the field during the year2006,2008 and 2009. Out of ten fungicides tested, Companion at 0.2 per cent (Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63%) and Propiconazole 25 EC (0.1%) were found significantly superior in controlling the disease with the lowest PDI (9.06 and 10.95 respectively), also significant increase in fruit yield in Companion sprayed plots (38.94 t/ha) followed by Propiconazole 25 EC (36.97 t/ha) and other fungicides. The B:C ratio was also found higher in Companion (1:3.79) and Propiconazole (1:3.41) sprayed plots comparedto other fungicides and untreated control plots over three years. It is thus concluded that the fungicide Companion at 0.2 per cent or Propiconazole 25 EC (0.1%) should be sprayed twice at 8 days interval for the management of Septoria leaf spot diseasein tomato.
