Facilitating Structural and Functional Characteristics on the Level of Empowerment of Rural Women Self Help Groups

Significant positve relationship was found between the characteristics viz., finanacial assistance obtained, frequency of group meetings, supportive environment, group processes, group sustainability, conformity to group norms and critical issues of group meetings with the level of process, product and overall empowerments. However, supportive environment was significantly contributing for the variation in process and overall empowerment among all the group variables selected. Whereas none of the variables were found significant for the variation in product empowerment.
