A revision of Albugo (Chromista, Peronosporomycetes).

After a revision of the taxonomy and nomenclature of Albugo, it was concluded that this genus contains at least 3 groups of species that deserve generic level. Taking into account the unique features of these organisms, the subclass Albuginomycetidae and the order Albuginales are introduced. The genus Albugo is emended and 2 new genera, Pastula gen. nov. and Wilsoniana gen. nov., are introduced for the white rust of Asteridae and Caryophyllidae, respectively. Based on morphological, ultrastructural and molecular grounds, the combinations Pastula chardiniae comb. nov., P. hydrocotyles comb. nov., P. tragopogonis comb. nov., Wilsoniana achyrantis comb. nov., W. bliti comb. nov., W. platensis comb. nov. and W. portulacae comb. nov. are proposed..
