A prospective comparison of prednisone plus ciclosporin and prednisone alone in pediatric nephrotic syndrome

Could the risk of relapse of pediatric nephrotic syndrome be reduced by increasing initial immunosuppression? Adding ciclosporin to the immunosuppressive regimen would avoid the adverse effects of increased corticosteroid dosing. OBJECTIVE To determine whether addition of ciclosporin to prednisone therapy reduces the risk of relapse in children with steroid-sensitive nephrotic syndrome (SSNS).
