Do patients with neurocysticercosis benefit from cysticidal therapy?

Medical opinion varies as to whether cysticidal drug therapy can help to eradicate intracranial tapeworm cysts in patients with neurocysticercosis (caused by tapeworm infection of the brain), thereby reducing the frequency of seizures. OBJECTIVE To investigate whether cysticidal therapy can destroy viable brain lesions and reduce the risk of recurrent seizures in patients with neurocysticercosis.
