Investigation of the Effect of Nano Silver on Fluorescence Properties of Norfloxacin

Herein, we report that the effects of nano silvers on fluorescence properties of norfloxacin. Silver nanoparticles can significantly quench the fluorescence of norfloxacin. With the increasing of silver nanoparticles concentrations, the fluorescence intensity of norfloxacin decreased correspondingly. These phenomenons possibly result from the fluorescence resonance energy transfer between norfloxacin and silver nanoparticles. The estimated Stern-Volmer quenching constant (k = 3.974 × 10~3 L mol~(-1)) also proved that the quenching mechanism of norfloxacin caused by silver nanoparticles was a static quenching process. The different concentrations of silver nanoparticles might be used to adjust the fluorescence properties of norfloxacin, which had the potential application value in practical analyses of norfloxacin in environmental samples.
