摘要

Whenever an animal moves its head, its visual system must compensate to avoid the visual input being blurred or degraded. This process, which is known as gaze stabilization, involves eye movements that counteract the head movement and is thought to rely mainly on sensory feedback from the visual and vestibular systems. However, a new study shows that swimming tadpoles produce compensatory eye movements solely on the basis of signals from their motor systems.
