The scheduling process is composed of the inputs described above as well as the process itself. Pipeline scheduling is unique to each pipeline based on the physical configuration of that pipeline, the physical and operational constraints, and the area of the business that it serves. The pipeline may be a gathering-related pipeline with priorities on the upstream side of the business, a delivery-related pipeline with priorities on the downstream side of the side of the business, or a mainline transportation pipeline focused on maximizing throughput efficiencies.
