Nanotechnology,like any new technology,may pose risks for health and the environment as well as offering many benefits.Such risks must be assessed and appropriate measures taken where necessary.Safety concerns about nanotechnology -both real and perceived -need to be identified and addressed at the earliest stage.The accepted current view is that many unanswered questions remain.
