India, China account for 54% of total global gold demand in Q1

India and China accounted for 54 per cent ofthe total global gold consumer demand in thefi rst quarter of this year, according to a report. Global demand for jewellery, still the mostsignifi cant component of overall demand,totalled 601 tonne in the fi rst quarter of 2015,three per cent lower than the last year, said theGold Demands Trends report prepared by theWorld Gold Council.
