Vedanta puts Lanjigarh alumina refinery expansion on hold

Vedanta Resources has put on hold a vefoldexpansion plan of its Lanjigarh re nery inOdisha even as it is mulling sourcing bauxite from other sources away from Niyamgiri Hillsto feed existing and future operations. "Withregard to the expansion project at Lanjigarh, thecompany's fresh application for environmentalclearance is in process and in the meantime theexpansion plans are on hold," the Anil Agarwalledcompany said in its results statement.
