It will be demonstrated that there are still problems concerning the dimensioning of shafts under different shear forces which have not been solved satisfactorily yet. The experimental results obtained in the carried out work are compared with theoretical investigations. Thus, it is possible to find out a clear explanation for the correctness of the results gained by theory and experiments.
