Gold imports rise to $1.98 bn in February

Gold imports in February rose to $ 1.98billion (Rs 12,293 crore), the second successivemonthly rise. Gold imports had inched up inJanuary 2015 to $ 1.55 billion. Despite easing ingold import norms, the shipments had droppedsharply in December 2014. The Decemberimport fi gure stood at $ 1.34 billion, about onefourthof the quantity in November.
