The VDI guideline 2219 "Introduction and economic viability of EDM/PDM systems" covers structure and aims of EDM/PDM systems, and describes the introduction and the calculation of their economic viability. The guideline was created by a team of people from different companies (machine tools, consumer goods, electro-technical industry), from EDM/PDM vendors, and from appropriate university institutes.
