Senecio albus, a new species of Senecio sect. Adamantina(Senecioneae — Asteraceae) with an emendment to the section

Senecio albus J. N. Nakaj. & A. M. Teles, a new species of Senecio (Senecioneae – Asteraceae), is describedfrom the National Park of Serra da Canastra, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The new species shares discoid capitula with S. gertiiZardini and is assigned to sect. Adamantina. This character is not in the circumscription for the sect. Adamantina andthus the description of the section is emended accordingly. A key to species of Senecio sect. Adamantina is provided.
