Choudicadoo Estate and Banangala Estate:Winners of 3rd prize and 5th prize in the Best Specialty Robusta category(Plavor of India - Fine Cup Award -2014).The exquisite coffees of Raigode and Choudicadoo estates are productsof Elkhill Estates, formed by a group of eight estates belonging to TheBombay Burmah Trading Corporation. The estates are located in Southern India, in the tiny and beautiful district of Kodagu (Coorg) in the state of Karnataka. Kodagu is home to Indian coffee and is naturally endowed with abundant forests and fertile lands. Elkhill is situated northeast of the town of Siddapur, at an average elevation of 1020 meters, with the highest point being 1121 meters. The coffee land, comprising 928 Ha, is made up of gentle undulating slopes with clayey loam type of soil. The coffee is grown under a lush canopy of forest trees mainly Rosewood, Jackfruit, varieties of Wild Fig and other indigenous trees. These forested fields of coffee are also home to a wide variety of birds and animals.
